Privacy Policy
History Digest Chrome Extension · Last updated: May 2026
What data we access
History Digest reads your Chrome browsing history for the date you select. This requires the history permission.
What we do with it
- All processing happens entirely on your device, inside the extension.
- No browsing data is ever sent to any server, third party, or external service.
- The only output is a Markdown or JSON file written to your local
~/Downloads folder.
What we store
The extension saves two preferences to Chrome's local storage (on your device only): your chosen output folder and your preferred export format. No browsing history is stored by the extension.
Permissions used
- history — to read your browsing history for the selected date.
- downloads — to write the exported file to your Downloads folder.
- storage — to persist your folder and format preferences locally.
